Artificial Intelligence is no longer something that only belongs to software engineers or researchers.

You see it in marketing tools, search engines, design software, customer support, data analysis, coding platforms, and even everyday productivity apps.

And that is probably why so many people are trying to learn AI right now.

The problem however is not finding a course to learn AI. There are thousands of them.

The problem is figuring out where to learn.

Some websites are great if you want a proper, structured course. Others are better when you want to sit down, write some code, and learn by doing.

Then we have platforms that focus on a particular part of AI, such as large language models, cloud AI, or deep learning.

I think the difference matters.

A beginner who wants to understand how AI works does not necessarily need the same platform as someone trying to build an AI application.

So, instead of looking at just the number of courses a website offers, this list looks at what you can actually learn there, how the learning experience works, what makes each platform unique, and what you can expect to pay.

With that in mind, I have listed 14 websites worth exploring if you want to build AI skills in 2026.

1. Coursera

Coursera home page

Coursera is probably one of the first names you will come across when you start looking for online AI courses.

You can find beginner-friendly introductions to AI as well as courses covering Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, large language models, and other technical subjects.

Coursera brings together courses from universities and companies including Stanford, Google, IBM, Microsoft and DeepLearning.AI.

Its courses can be video-based, but many also include readings, quizzes, assignments, and practical work.

Some technical programs include coding exercises, labs, and projects.

AI Skills You Can Learn

Here are the AI skills you can learn from Coursera.

  • Artificial Intelligence fundamentals
  • Machine Learning
  • Deep Learning
  • Generative AI
  • Prompt Engineering
  • Large Language Models
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Computer Vision
  • AI Agents
  • Responsible AI
  • AI applications for business

What Makes Coursera Useful

Coursera's biggest strength is its structured learning experience.

You can take a single course or follow a longer Specialization or Professional Certificate instead of having to figure out what to learn next.

There is also a nice mix of university-led and industry-led learning, so you can choose between academic foundations and more practical, job-focused courses.

Pricing and Other Details

Here are some details you should know about Coursera.

Detail Information
Free Learning Some courses offer free access or previews
Individual Programs Generally $49-$79/month
Coursera Plus $59/month or $399/year
Certificate Available with eligible paid courses/programs
Learning Format Videos, readings, quizzes, assignments, projects, and selected hands-on labs

2. Udacity

Udacity home page

Udacity takes a more career-focused approach to learning technology. Its AI offerings include individual courses as well as larger Nanodegree programs.

Instead of simply watching lessons and moving on, many programs ask you to actually build something and submit your work.

For example, Udacity's Artificial Intelligence Nanodegree includes projects such as building a Sudoku solver and creating a planning-based AI agent.

Project submissions are reviewed by industry professionals.

The courses are primarily designed for people who want to develop technical skills that can be used in a job or project.

AI Skills You Can Learn

Depending on the course or program, you can learn:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Machine Learning
  • Deep Learning
  • Generative AI
  • AI Agents
  • Computer Vision
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Python
  • AI development
  • Autonomous systems

What Makes Udacity Useful

Udacity's biggest difference is its project-based approach.

If you learn best when someone gives you a problem and asks you to build something, this format can be more useful than simply completing a series of videos.

Its Nanodegree programs also combine projects with features such as expert feedback, career coaching, and interview preparation.

Pricing and Other Details

Here are some details you should know.

Detail Information
Free Learning Some free courses and learning resources
Paid Model $249/month or $846 for 4 months

3. Udemy

Udemy

Udemy is a little different from platforms such as Coursera or Udacity.

Instead of following one central curriculum, you get a huge marketplace of individual courses created by different instructors.

That means there is a lot of choice, but it also means you need to be a little more careful about which course you pick.

You can find AI courses for complete beginners as well as courses covering specific tools, programming languages, Machine Learning and Generative AI.

Udemy's current Personal Plan also includes AI courses and practice activities.

Learning is generally video-led, with courses often including downloadable resources, quizzes, exercises and, depending on the course, practical labs or coding exercises.

AI Skills You Can Learn

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Generative AI
  • Prompt Engineering
  • Machine Learning
  • Deep Learning
  • Python for AI
  • Large Language Models
  • AI tools
  • AI automation
  • Computer Vision
  • Natural Language Processing

What Makes Udemy Useful

The real advantage of Udemy is choice. If you want to learn one very specific thing without signing up for a six-month program, there is a good chance you will find a course for it.

The downside is that course quality can vary because the platform has such a large instructor marketplace.

Udemy says its Personal Plan courses are curated using factors including course ratings, instructor performance, and topic relevance.

So, spend a few minutes checking the instructor, reviews, syllabus, and last update before buying.

Pricing and Other Details

Here are some details you should know.

Detail Information
Individual Courses $19.99-$199.99
Personal Plan Subscription providing access to a curated collection
Free Courses Available, depending on the course
Certificate Certificate of completion for eligible courses

4. DataCamp

DataCamp Home page

DataCamp could work for you if you do not enjoy sitting through hours of lectures.

The platform is built around interactive learning.

Courses combine short videos with exercises that you can complete directly in your browser, so you can move from learning a concept to actually using it almost immediately.

DataCamp says its courses, coding exercises, and projects can be completed in the browser without installing special software. It now covers AI alongside its traditional focus on data science, Python, SQL, and analytics.

AI Skills You Can Learn

  • AI fundamentals
  • Generative AI
  • Prompt Engineering
  • Machine Learning
  • Deep Learning
  • AI application development
  • Python
  • Data analysis
  • AI for business
  • AI for marketing and other professional roles

What Makes DataCamp Useful

The biggest difference is simple: you learn by doing.

Instead of watching a long lesson and promising yourself that you will practice later, DataCamp puts interactive exercises into the learning process itself.

It also has projects, skill tracks, and career tracks, which can be useful if you have a particular role in mind rather than simply wanting to "learn AI."

Pricing and Other Details

Here are some details you should know.

Detail Information
Free Plan First chapter of courses
Premium $35/month
Student Plan $24/month
Certificate Available
Learning Format Short videos, interactive browser exercises, projects, and assessments

  • Machine Learning
  • Large Language Models
  • Prompt Engineering
  • RAG
  • AI Agents
  • Python
  • Cloud AI

Conclusion

Learning AI can feel overwhelming because there is always another course, another tool, and another new term to understand. You do not need to learn everything.

Start with the kind of AI skill you actually want to use. If you're learning AI for your career, think about the work you want to do six months from now and work backward from there.

A marketing professional might get more value from learning Generative AI, prompting, automation, and AI-assisted research than from spending months studying neural networks.

A developer might need Python, Machine Learning, LLMs, RAG and AI Agents. Someone moving into cloud engineering may be better served by AWS or Google Cloud's hands-on environments.

That is why I would not choose a learning platform simply because it has the largest course library or the most impressive certificate.

Look at the actual course. Check how it teaches. See whether you get to practice.

Look at what you will be able to build or do when you finish.

Ultimately, the goal is not to say, "I completed an AI course."

The goal is to be able to say, "I know how to use this."
